Caribbean Bay: The Complete Guide to Korea’s Biggest Water Park (2026)
A 2.4-metre wave pool, a 90 km/h free-fall slide, a tornado funnel, a tropical lazy river and a hot-spring spa, all an hour from Seoul next to Everland. Here’s every ride, the 2026 season dates, ticket prices, what to pack, and how to get there.
| What it is | Korea’s biggest water park, in Yongin next to Everland (the Everland Resort), about an hour from Seoul. It mixes indoor and outdoor zones, so it runs much of the year, and 2026 is its 30th anniversary. |
|---|---|
| Don’t miss | The giant wave pool (waves up to 2.4 m), the Aqua Loop free-fall slide (up to 90 km/h), the Mega Storm tornado funnel, the Wild River rapids and the relaxing hot-spring spa. |
| When | The outdoor season runs roughly late spring to early September (peak mid-June to August); the indoor zone and wave pool run far longer. Always check the official daily hours before you go. |
| Tickets | Prices swing hard by season. The foreigner ticket online is much cheaper than the gate (from around ₩34,500 off-peak), with QR entry. An afternoon pass is cheaper if you arrive after about 14:30. |
| Getting there | Same as Everland: the EverLine to Jeondae·Everland Station plus the free shuttle, a direct shuttle bus from Seoul, or express buses 5002 (Gangnam) / 5700 (Jamsil). |
| Smartest move | Go on a weekday, book the discounted foreigner ticket online, arrive at opening (peak days can sell out), and bring a swim cap and water shoes. |

1. What Caribbean Bay is, and how to plan your day
Caribbean Bay (캐리비안 베이) is Korea’s largest water park, sitting beside Everland in Yongin, about an hour south-east of Seoul. It opened in 1996 and turns 30 in 2026, and it’s consistently rated one of the best water parks in Asia. The theme is a Caribbean port town, with everything from a colossal wave pool to white-knuckle slides, a tropical river and a proper hot-spring spa.
Two things to fix in your mind before you go:
- It’s part indoor, part outdoor. The huge indoor zone (the wave pool, an indoor spa and some slides) runs much of the year, while the big outdoor slides and pools are a warm-season attraction. That changes what’s open depending on your dates.
- It’s a day trip, not in the city. Caribbean Bay is at the Everland Resort, about an hour each way from Seoul, so plan a full day and check the last shuttle or train home.
2. The layout: indoor vs outdoor, and the five zones
Caribbean Bay is built as a themed Caribbean port and split into roughly five areas across an indoor hall and a large outdoor park. Knowing them helps you plan a loop and pick the right season.
- Aquatic Center (indoor): the giant covered hall with the main wave pool, indoor slides and the spa. Because it’s under a roof, it runs the longest season and is your fallback in cool or wet weather.
- Sea Wave: the wave-pool and beach-style zone, the social heart of the park.
- Bay Slide: the tower of body and tube slides, including the headline thrills.
- Wild River: the outdoor adventure zone with rapids, tube slides and a scenic river through pine-clad hills.
- Fortress: the family and lazy-river area, with the relaxing float and gentler water play.
3. The wave pool and the lazy river: the heart of the park
If Caribbean Bay has a signature, it’s the wave pool, one of the world’s largest, where machine-made waves roll up to a remarkable 2.4 metres high. It packs a real beach atmosphere into the indoor and outdoor zones, with crowds bobbing and bodyboarding as the waves come through in timed sets.
- The wave pool (Sea Wave): huge, with periodic big-wave sessions announced by a siren. It’s the busiest, most fun spot in the park, and a big part of why the indoor zone can run year-round.
- The lazy river (Riding Bay): a long, slow float on a tube past tropical scenery, the perfect way to rest your legs between slides. It loops through the themed grounds and is a hit with every age.
- Wild River: a faster, more adventurous river run through the wooded outdoor zone, with rapids, waterfalls and a windmill, for those who want movement rather than a gentle drift.
4. The thrill slides: Aqua Loop, Mega Storm & more
This is where Caribbean Bay earns its reputation. The slide line-up is genuinely world-class, from a stomach-dropping free-fall capsule to a giant tornado funnel.
| Slide | What it does | Thrill |
|---|---|---|
| Aqua Loop | A 3-second countdown, then the floor drops away for an 18 m near-vertical plunge and a 360° loop, hitting up to ~90 km/h | ★★★★★ |
| Mega Storm | A giant tube ride from ~37 m up that swirls into a huge tornado-style funnel; about 55–60 seconds | ★★★★★ |
| Tower Boomerango | A tube launch up and back across a ~19 m wall of slide | ★★★★ |
| Wild River slides | A cluster of tube and body slides plus a boomerango in the outdoor adventure zone | ★★★★ |
| Bay Slide body slides | Classic high-speed open and enclosed body slides | ★★★ |
The Aqua Loop is the one people talk about: you stand in a clear capsule, a countdown ticks down, and the floor vanishes beneath you. The Mega Storm is the big group thrill, flushing your tube into a vast funnel before it spits you out. Between them, Caribbean Bay has the kind of headline rides that put it on the world map.
5. The spa, sauna and ways to relax
Caribbean Bay isn’t only about adrenaline. A big part of its appeal, very much in the Korean spa tradition, is the chance to soak and relax between the thrills.
- The spa & hot-spring baths: warm indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzis and hot-spring-style baths where you can thaw out, especially welcome in cooler weather.
- Sauna & foot baths: dry and steam saunas plus foot-soak areas, a calm counterpoint to the slides.
- Cabanas: private shaded cabanas are available to rent for the day, a comfortable base for families and groups to leave their things and regroup.
- Loungers & quiet corners: plenty of poolside seating and shaded spots to dry off and rest.

6. With kids and families
For all its big slides, Caribbean Bay is genuinely family-friendly, with whole zones built for younger children.
- Kids’ water play (Aqua Play): a dedicated children’s zone with shallow pools, small slides, tipping buckets and water-play structures for ages 3 and up.
- Infant pool: a separate, very shallow, supervised pool for the littlest ones.
- Gentle rides: the lazy river and the calmer pools are great for families together, no thrill rating required.
- Family amenities: cabanas, changing rooms, lockers and plenty of food keep a long day manageable with children.
7. 2026: the Sanrio Characters summer & seasonal events
Like Everland, Caribbean Bay refreshes itself with seasonal events, and 2026 has a headline one. For its 30th anniversary, the park is running a Sanrio Characters collaboration through the core summer season.
- Sanrio Characters summer (2026): a themed takeover with Hello Kitty and friends across décor, photo zones and special programmes, running roughly mid-June to early September 2026.
- Summer night events: in peak season the park typically extends hours and adds evening pool parties, music and shows after dark.
- Anniversary touches: expect 30th-anniversary specials through the year.
8. When to go: the 2026 season calendar
More than at most attractions, timing decides your visit here, because the park runs tiered seasons and only opens the full outdoor line-up in warm weather.
| Period (2026) | Roughly | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Closed | early Mar – mid-Apr | Annual refurbishment; park shut |
| Low season | from mid-Apr | Indoor wave pool & spa, limited outdoor; cheapest tickets |
| Gold season | late May – mid-Aug | Full park, summer in full swing |
| High / peak | mid-Jun – early Jul | Everything open, biggest crowds, top prices |
- For the full experience, come in the warm season (roughly June to August) when every slide and outdoor pool is running.
- For value and calm, shoulder dates give you the indoor wave pool and spa for much less.
- Hours change daily with weather and season, so confirm opening and closing on the official “today’s park” page before you set off.
9. Tickets, prices and passes
Pricing at Caribbean Bay swings more than almost any attraction in Korea, because it’s tied to those season tiers. The good news: the foreigner ticket online is consistently much cheaper than the gate.
| Ticket | What it is | Rough price (adult) |
|---|---|---|
| Day Pass (gate) | Full day, varies sharply by season tier | highest in peak summer |
| Day Pass (online / foreigner) | Same, QR entry, big discount | from ~₩34,500 off-peak |
| Afternoon Pass | Entry from about 14:30 to close | cheaper than a full day |
| Family / set tickets | 2–3 person sets and family packages | varies |
| Everland + Caribbean Bay combo | Both parks (usually over two days) | combo rate |
- The foreigner discount is real. The online foreigner day pass is far cheaper than the gate and gives QR entry. It’s for foreign passport holders only.
- Afternoon pass for a shorter visit: arriving after about 14:30 cuts the price and still gives you the slides and waves into the evening.
- Season tier sets the price: the same ticket can cost very different amounts in low vs peak season, so an online discount matters most in summer.
10. How to beat the crowds (timing & smart moves)
On a hot summer day Caribbean Bay can get extremely busy, sometimes selling out before mid-morning. A little strategy goes a long way.
- Arrive at opening. On peak days the park can reach capacity and close ticketing early in the morning. Get there when it opens to be sure of entry and short early lines.
- Ride the big slides first or last. Hit the Aqua Loop and Mega Storm at opening or in the final hour; do the wave pool, lazy river and spa during the midday peak.
- Go on a weekday. Weekends and the mid-summer peak are dramatically busier than a weekday.
- Pre-book online. A QR ticket lets you skip the ticket counter, which matters most when the park is full.

11. What to bring and the rules to know
A water park has a few rules that catch first-timers out, and a little packing makes the day far smoother.
- Swimwear is required, and so is a swim cap. Wear a proper swimsuit; a swim cap is required (bring one or buy it at the park). Rashguards are popular and fine to wear.
- No risky accessories. Earrings, rings, hairpins and similar are not allowed on the slides for safety; leave them in a locker.
- Footwear: only water shoes such as Crocs, sandals or flip-flops are allowed around the pools.
- Lockers & rentals: lockers are available for a small fee, and you can rent or buy towels, tubes, life jackets and swim gear on site.
- Sun & safety: bring waterproof sunscreen for the outdoor zones, and remember life jackets are mandatory in some pools (free to borrow).
12. Food and dining
You won’t go hungry. The park is dotted with food courts, snack bars and cafés across the indoor and outdoor zones.
- Food courts: Korean staples like bibimbap, noodles and fried chicken, plus pizza, burgers and rice bowls.
- Snacks: the usual water-park favourites, churros, hot dogs, ice cream and cold drinks, are everywhere.
- Poolside & cabana service: snacks and drinks near the water, with table service in the rentable cabanas.
- Tip: eat a little before or after the 12:00–13:00 rush, and bring a refillable bottle for the hot outdoor zones.
13. How to get to Caribbean Bay from Seoul
Caribbean Bay shares its access with Everland, so getting there from Seoul is the same handful of options.
| Option | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Subway + EverLine | Bundang Line to Giheung, transfer to the EverLine to Jeondae·Everland Station, then the free shuttle to the gate | Independent travellers; cheapest |
| Express bus | Direct bus 5002 from Gangnam Station or 5700 from Jamsil, about 50–60 minutes | Fast, few transfers |
| Direct shuttle bus | Tourist shuttle from Seoul (Hongdae, Myeongdong, Dongdaemun), round trip about ₩10,000–12,000 | One easy ride, no transfers |
| Tour / private transfer | Door-to-gate transport, often bundled with tickets | Zero logistics; groups |
The DIY route via the EverLine to Jeondae·Everland Station Map and the free shuttle is straightforward; the water park entrance is Map a short ride away.
14. Caribbean Bay + Everland: doing both
Because Caribbean Bay sits right next to Everland, a lot of visitors do both, and there are combo tickets for exactly that.
- They’re separate parks. Your Caribbean Bay ticket does not include Everland, and vice versa; the combo ticket covers both.
- Two days is realistic. Each park is a full day, so most people do one park per day rather than cramming both into one.
- Pick by weather: save Caribbean Bay for the hot, clear day and Everland for the cooler or less sunny one. If rain threatens, Everland’s rides or an indoor day works better.
15. A sample day at Caribbean Bay

- Late morning — Wave pool Catch a big-wave session in the Sea Wave pool, the most fun spot in the park.
